Configuring Enable And Line Passwords
The router has numbers of ports that allow access to the router and on each of these ports you can specify the password for the maintaining a layer of security to the router. Cisco's routers by default very secure as long as the router is locked inside the room. If we see router only allow console access but no SSH and Telnet access. So normally cisco router secure with the five passwords.
1.Configuring Line Console Password
The console port back of the router is used to directly connect to the router. For the specification of the password use the password line configuration mode. Here below is the bunch commands to add console password.

So there is only one console port, so that why we type "line console 0". After that we specify password and than we enter "login" that is very important command if you not enter login than you won't be asked for password then.
2.Configuring Line Auxiliary Password
The auxiliary port is also on the back of the router and it is commonly used to connect a modem to. It is used to allow the remote user access to the configuration of the router. If a modem is connected to the port it should definitely have a password specify for it.

3.Configuring Line VTY/Telnet Password
Virtual Terminal Lines are used to allow the remote access to the router. A router can have variable virtual terminals lines depending on the hardware platform IOS version of the router.
Router that are not running the enterprise edition of Cisco IOS have five VTY lines 0-4 only. In case of Cisco IOS you will have significantly more VTY lines.
4.Configuring Enable Mode Password
The enable password is used to secure the privilege execution mode. This will prompt a user for a password when the enable command is used.

5.Configuring Enable Secret Password
The enable secret password is the password in encrypted form and is use to gain access to the enable mode and to the global configuration mode on the router. The enable secret password password is more preferred over enable password. The enable password should be different from the enable secret password.
